How much money do I need to bum around Ireland & Scotland for two weeks?

Scotland about £50 a day, after accommodation (this'll be loads).

Ireland (Republic) about 70-80euro a day, after accommodation (this'll be loads).

Of course you could do it on the cheap, just halve the above amounts.

About 1000-2000 at the least after flights are paid, depending on where you stay, what you eat, and how you travel. If you stay at hostels, eat a low price pubs, and travel by train, its not expensive. If you stay at a posh hotel, eat at fine dining restaurants, and travel by rental car, your going to pay for it. Basically, your trip will cost what you want to spend.

Can't speak for Ireland, but it's not cheap in Scotland.  I should know as I live here.  Some of the tourist attractions in Edinburgh are really expensive to get into, especially Edinburgh Castle.  Mind you as I am a member of Historic Scotland I get free entry to the caste as well as other historic sites throughout Scotland, and even in England too.
