No they do not hold jobs, since that is beneath them to work at a job like the rest of society does.

They get their money via illegal activities.  Selling drugs, stealing from others etc.  They do not want to have to work at a regular job like the rest of society, they want a lot of money and they want it fast and easy.

BTW:  I have no idea how much money they get from selling drugs.  Personally I don't think that any amount of money they get is worth it when they get caught, when their freedom  is taken away and they are sent to prison.

Gang members have alot of different ways to make money. Some rob, some  steal, some sell drugs, no gang has specific things they do unless its a organized gang. Like a bank robbing gang or car stealing gang. The average street gang is involved in numerous illegal activities.  No matter what they do...at some point, they will get busted and go to jail.  I know from personal experience with gang members.

They make their money through drug money and taxing small businessess in the area by using intimidation. They also sell weapons and do hits on people. Basically all their money comes from illegal acts.

It depends how hard they work. You can make a thousand bucks a week from a small protection racket with a gang of four, and you only need to put in a couple of hours a day.
