A few things to consider; how quickly do you think you will find a job? Where do you plan to live, sydney is double the cost of some other cities.? Do you want to live by yourself from the start, or are you happy to share to save money? Are you going to need a car from the outset, or are you planning to live in the inner city where public transport is quiet good? (Used cars are silly expensive in Australia)

about a thousand pounds for visa's and stuff and you also need enough money to live on - as you aren't allowed to have any unemployment or medical benefits for two years.

please bear in mind that living in australia has traditionally been much cheaper than living in the uk, but this has changed significantly in the last five years.  it's still cheaper but not that much cheaper than living in the uk.

if you can get a job straight away though, you're laughing.

australia has a chronic shortage of skilled workers at the moment, so there's plenty of jobs about.  check out seek.com.au.

£1000 for Visa, £150 for TRA,£1200 for company to sort my Visa which is a must, and £300 for a medical.

Say if you want to go Sydney Its about £200 a week rent in one bed apartment, and you would prob have to have enough money to pay up front for a few months.

To open up a bank account like I did with HSBC you would have to put in $2000 £1000 in the account other wise you cant open an account.

Flight there would be around £600.

Not much. When I came to the UK I didn't have any money and look at me now! I'm loaded!!!
