First off, what country are you in? Second, what type of visa are you considering? Some require sponsorship, some do not. Some that do also require a professional sponsor, a personal one is not acceptable, etc. Does he plan or want to immigrate, or just a temporary/non-immigration visa? Is there a professional interest only, or is there also the possibility of personal/romantic interests? And so on..

if you set yourself to be his sponsor? you will have to take care of him while he is with you ,do you realize what this mean ? there are a lot of situations that could arise from you doing this .

think very hard before doing this .

If you sign on as the responsible party for a non-citizen, it could cost you your life savings & everything else you earn until the day you die!  It's just NOT a smart thing to do.  Too many women are being used by men who want to get out of their own countries at the expense of anyone who will sign for them.  Don't get conned.   Do you think you can keep an eye on him for 24 hours a day for one month until he goes home?  Will he have a round-trip ticket in his hand?  If not, then YOU will have to pay for his return if you sign for him!  THINK BEFORE YOU ACT!  If he decides to stay past the one month allowance time,  what will you do?  If he commits any crime, YOU are held responsible for him & must pay fines, etc.
