  1. go to drf.com and click leaders...jockeys get 10% of purse.....

  2. Some jockeys are employed on what is called a retainer.  That is where a jockey is employed by a particular stable or owner to ride their horses as a priority.  For example Frankie Dettori is the retainer for Godolphin.

Other jockeys are paid a flat fee for every ride they have (it is about £110 per horse in Great Britain) regardless of where the horse finishes.  On top of that they will earn a percentage of the winnings if the horse finishes in the prize money.

  3. That depends on how many races they win.

  4. jockeys get paid a jock mount usually $40 a race amd then 10% of any purse money they win  if they place 1 thru 5 usually.

  5. they dont exactly have an estimated amount. they get 10 or 15% of the horses earnings when they race. so say a horse a jockey rides gets first and the prize miney for first was 10,000$ the jockey would get 10% of that money.

  6. in Australia jockeys work for commission........ the more horses they ride into the top 6 (prize money is paid to the top 6 spots) the more money they make!
