  1. The pay for ultrasound technologists will vary, depending on experience and geographical location.  The American Society of Radiologic Technologists just did a large salary survey, in 2007.   You can see how much a RT and/or ultrasound technologist averaged, per year, in your state here:

    https://www.asrt.org/media/pdf/research/...

For example, in Alabama, the mean average yearly salary of an ultrasound technologist was $58,998 in 2007.  Divide that by 2080 (40 hours per week X 52 weeks) and that equals over $36 per hour.

In California, the mean average yearly salary was $87,485, with an hourly salary of about $42.6o per hour.

  2. Ultrasound Tech Salary Range, Benefits and Considerations - In the current job market, an ultrasound technologist can earn an average salary between $53,000 and $58,000 per year. The median salary for an experienced ultra sound tech is a bit higher at $61,000 annually, and the top ten percent can earn in excess of $72,000 per year. Med Travelers offers temporary ultrasound technician jobs in locations throughout the country at a competitive hourly salary comparable to standard pay rates. In addition to a comfortable salary, the organization called Med Travelers provides its employees with full-benefits, job-related travel reimbursement, free housing and more.
