  1. um...we aren't fast food. you just don't order us up. your wording of your question scares me.

  2. I've done two adoptions in Canada, one in Ontario and one in Alberta.  Neither time were we asked much about our income.  They asked what my wife and I made per year ($72k combined), saw that we had a suitable home and that was it.  No credit check, no inquiries into our bills.  Oh, they did ask if we had declared bankruptcy in the previous 6 years (we hadn't) but that was it.

I know many others who make less then I do who have been able to adopt with no problems regarding their finances.

I would suggest that you look at adopting through the Ontario CAS.  There is generally no cost for that.

  3. I know here it doesn't matter how much you make as long as your bills are paid and you can afford food for the house.

  4. If you adopt through foster care, the only income requirements are that you have stable finances, and can pay your bills.  I don't know about adopting an infant, or internationally, but those programs cost far more than foster adoption, so I would guess you'd need to make a whole lot more money just to cover the fees.

  5. sorry hun, but I seriously doubt they'd consider $2K a month as "good money" because it really isn't...

Bless you for wanting to adopt, but perhaps just try to enrich the life of your current child

  6. Don't know about Canada but in US you need to make enough to support your current household plus expenses. As long as you can provide for the child that is much better than them being in foster care! If you are trying to adopt over seas I would suggest a lot of money though.

  7. There is no magic number. At least that is what we were told . We are adopting through foster care.  They look at your bills and your income if you have enough and you are not charging everything then you make enough.

  8. depends on the agency you are going through
