  1. if you get a roomate and find a good place to rent it can run as low as 250-300 or as high as 700 or over 1000 depending where you want to live.

    Plus as one other person said there are other expenses unless included in the rent...


  2. A general rule is your rent should not exceed 1/3 of your gross monthly income (income before taxes).  

    If rent was $700/week, then you would need to be making $2100 a month before taxes.  

    If you work a salary job, then that would be approximately $26,000/year.  

    If you are working hourly shifts, and work 8 hours a day for 5 days a week you would need an hourly rate of $13.25.
