if you get a roomate and find a good place to rent it can run as low as 250-300 or as high as 700 or over 1000 depending where you want to live.

Plus as one other person said there are other expenses unless included in the rent...

A general rule is your rent should not exceed 1/3 of your gross monthly income (income before taxes).  

If rent was $700/week, then you would need to be making $2100 a month before taxes.  

If you work a salary job, then that would be approximately $26,000/year.  

If you are working hourly shifts, and work 8 hours a day for 5 days a week you would need an hourly rate of $13.25.

Ask the landlord as some places have a minimum income...

My apartment complex requires you make four times as much as rent in order to live there.
