  1. probably around 200000 dollars. thats not even including his contract.


  2. you don't get paid for competing in the olympics.

    his money would come from sponsorships

    edit: he makes a lot though.  his contract with speedo states he will get a $1 million BONUS if he wins 7 gold medals in beijing this year. if that's what the bonus is, i'd imagine his regular pay he gets from speedo's sponsorship is quite a lot.
