When you get to jobs that require more education and time, they don't pay by the hour, you get a set salary and you don't get paid over time..

My dad works for Lockheed Martin and has never gotten paid by the hour.

but most group orthodontists/dentists or non-owners will get paid a percentage of production or collections.

I don't think they get paid by the hour. I think they get paid based on the jobs they did (If they did oral surgery then they'll get paid more because it costs more, but tightening braces won't rake in as much cash). Also, it depends on where they work. I have a strong feeling that an orthodontist in NYC is going to get paid just a tad more than an orthodontist in Idaho.

Far too much. For my appointments it costs 150-170, and last time i was in there for litterally 15 minutes.
