  1. Varys depending on flight school. Roughly around £3000 - 5000 I'd say.

  2. Here in Canada its about $5000 to $7000

  3. Depends where you go to get one.

If you get it from a part 141 school and use a lot of hours throughout the course it could cost you $10 000 and up.

If you're a smart student, and you get your PPL at a local school (a small part 61 school, not a pilot factory or part 141 school), and you study for each lesson, come prepared, and you do it at a good pace, you could probably get your PPL for about $5000-$6000. (This is a very low/good price, all depending on how many hours you use and that you pass the checkride on the first try). If it's part 61 it depends a lot on yourself, and of course the quality of instruction. So get a good instructor

  4. At a local flight school (i.e. not a big part 141 academy), anywhere from $5,000 to $10,000 US dollars.  It varies depending on the school you go to, what type of plane you train in and how fast you pick it up.  For example, there's a huge difference in cost if you get your license in an old Cessna 152 vs a shiny new Cirrus SR22 (if you could find a school that let you start off your training in one of those that is).

It also varies depending on the school's policy for ground school.  I got mine at a place where you were pretty much on your own for that, unless you had questions.  It was cheaper, but I had to spend a lot more time learning stuff on my own.  I'm not saying one is better than the other.  Different people require/want different ways of being trained.
