My Fiance is Chinese and is applying for the UK Fiance Visa. I have about £2000 in the bank and she has over 100,000 RMB. Does anybody know how much money the British Embassy in China require the couple to have?

  1. usually, the tuiation fee for the undergraduate study and live expense is about £12,000 per year, how much money is sufficient depends on how long he will study. 100,000 RMB only worth £6,500. you should demostrate enough money and the money is really yours to surport the fees and living expense, which is the most important. usuall 300,000RMB is the lowest standard

  2. They are ruthless and are out to stop you so amount of money does not really matter, you need a good lawyer.

  3. Frisky has not been doing his reading recently... tut tut. There is Court of Appeal decision which states that the amount of money available must be at least equivalent to the sum availableto a UK national who is in receipt of DSS benefits. That means that you must show an income of at least the Job Seekers Allowance level (appx £50) per week per adult and sufficient saving to pay for departure from the UK and immediate support and maintenance requirements. Therefore if you have an income of at least £100 per week and also a further minimum of at least your rent, that would be sufficient to support and maintain. I am an immigration solicitor.

  4. I doubt there is a set amount.  I would imagine it would have merely to be "sufficient".

Blimey!  Clever Cyrus.  But then they don't tell us anything - only what we can't do this week which we could have done last week...ie actually remove anyone.  Still....can't complain...would never get paid this much in a real job.
