  1. As simple as the question sounds, there is no answer.

"Money" has too many meanings, and when we talk about different currencies whose values are constantly shifting, it becomes impossible to track.

Read up on Money in the Wikipedia link below to get a feel for how diverse the term can be.

For a general answer the World GDP (gross domestic product) last year was $65.95 trillion.  But that's not the answer to your question.

Sorry for adding confusion, but hope that helps.

  2. Well, I guess this amount is close to 3'500 billions in $ equivalent.

Since USA FED has around $ 800 billions (cash in circulation) and USA is about 24% of wolrd GDP (so just divide 800/0.24) - but it's very-very rough calculation because cash velocities in many countries are different.

It's only real cash residual - money virtualisation and credit system multiplicators may increase it many times.

I think this fugure can be calculated with precision of +/- 5% quite easely.

  3. Money is a Tool that Facilitates Trade. And since the vast majority of the world uses a fiat currency for their money, you really have an unlimited supply of money. So there is no way to answer your question. Not to mention the whole issue with even trying to convert it into a currency to judge it. What I mean is that if I said, "There is $500/trillon Dollars in the World", you would have to figure out how you even come to that number if all the currencies of the world started buying dollars to draft the answer..

Least we forget the tribes of the world who use sea shells, sticks, and stones for money...  Its a great question, but impossible to answer.  Maybe if we end up with 1 world currency, the answer might be easier..
