  1. Many Ontario insurers are offering a big fat zero, simply because they have discovered that on average these courses do not change insurance experience when the insurers are giving lower rates to induce people to take the course.

    When insurers are not giving inducements, these courses do improve insurance experience. Perhaps that is because motivation in taking the course affects the outcome.

    Those who do give a discount may offer a one year reduction of 5%, or $50.


  2. First, I recommend you check with your insurance carrier because that discount is not offered on every state or by every carrier. And if offered varies from 3 to 5%.

  3. Depends on the situation.   If you're an over 55 driver, in many states, it's 5%.
