I am a college student with 7 years of babysitting experience and I a wondering how much money I should be asking for from a family I am going to start babysitting for.. They live 5 miles away and I would be babysitting Monday-Friday for about 4 hours each day. I will be caring for a 6 yr old boy and a 8 yr old girl after school, doing some light cooking for the kids and driving them to activities some days. How much should I charge per hour? I want to include gas into this so that I do not have to make things complicated. Thank you in advance!

  2. Maybe 9-11 maybe even 12 dollars an hour.

  3. You need to ask other's your age who baby sit how much they ask.  It varies across the country.  I know high school students who get $15 an hour but they live in upper class neighborhoods.

  4. You should be getting $150/ week plus mileage for driving the kids around.  Call it 175?

    Have fun, and good luck...

BTW, check your auto insurance policy, and make certain that those kids are covered by your insurance. They may not be, because you are driving them as a job.
