How much money should I bring for 8 days in Ireland?

I'm going during the Saint Patrick day festival.....I need money for meals, tips, and stuff I want to buy....I'll be going on a with people from my high school, we are registered with ef tours.

  1. you dont realy have to tip, only if its good service, or if you have a cab.

    Use the dart & Luas to get around.

    Around E500/800 should do good.


  2. about 800-1000euro use travellers checks for half.

  4. I'd say €1000 to be safe but have a back up plan like at least €250 in traveller cheques that you'll only spend if its an emergency. have a great trip :D

  5. You should bring lots of money because this is an expensive country to visit. Eating out is especially expensive. The exchange rate from € to $ is about $1.30 to the Euro. A typical lunch here will cost you €10 without drinks and this can as much as tripple after 6pm. Be prepaired to be broke when you leave!!!!

  6. Remember, with EF Tours, all of your accommodation, breakfasts, some lunches and all dinners are included in the price of the tour, not to mention ALL of your transportation! This does not mean however that you should avoid tipping, if the service is acceptable. The rule of thumb when tipping in Europe is 10% or one Euro, whichever is greater. Most of the money you will want or need will be for other things, mainly souvenirs you will want to bring back and for any other things you want to buy outside of what's included in the tour. For 8 days, bring no less than $500, but I strongly recommend just bringing a couple of hundred to have in your pocket and use an ATM card for the rest as you will get a much better exchange rate and wont have to worry about carrying so much cash on you. Also, don't forget to tip your tour guide as they work for tips and are a valuable part of the tour.

  7. Bring about 500/650 euro.  Ireland is Europes most expensive country for consumers. so keep that in mind too.
