Question:

How much money should I bring to cuba?

I am going for 2 weeks, am staying at casa particulares, and am a budget traveler. I don´t really go to clubs etc...mostly museums which seem to be about 2-5cuc. I am planning on traveling to all parts...anyone have a suggesting in american dollars? (which I´m planning on exchanging beforehand).

  1. First, don't take American dollars you wil pay a penalty for conversion.  Take Canadian, Sterling or Euros.  You can change them into Convertible Pesos (CUC) the currency used by tourists in Cuba.  You cannot buy them outside Cuba and have no value elsewhere.  I would suggest $30-40.00 dollars per night for accomodation and the same for daily food.  I'm using the dollar purely as a guideline.  Below are some links which should help in particular cubajunky.com  have a wonderful trip, Cuba is wonderful as are also Cubans.
