I plan to travel from America to England for 2 weeks, but also visit Wales. I would be staying in Daventry, England hopefully. But as I have never been outside of the country, I am not too sure as how much money I should save up for, other than a plane ticket. Any suggestions? Thank you!! ^^

  1. Ummm a lot. I went to Eastern Europe last summer and it was pretty expensive but I was lucky enough to stay with relatives so I didnt have to pay for a hotel.

Look up hostels online and consider doing that. It's a lot cheaper but you have to share rooms with people.

Try to eat in less touristy areas because they will be a tad bit cheaper.

And bring more money than you think you'll need.

You'll have to do a lot of research and budgeting to figure this out but it should be easy online. Have fun :)

  2. i think that everything more expensive over here

  3. it really depends on what you want to be doing over here , several hundred pounds i would say  here is a run down odf some prices so you have an idea of price ,.

a loaf of bread will cost you a pound .

    a pint of milk 50p

average day pass for a bus £4.00 pounds

    sandwich from a supermarket £1.50-  ÃƒÂ‚£3.00

    a snickers 50p

a day trip to get in to alton towers ( a theme park) £35.00

    a pint of beer £2.50

    a bottle of wine £ 5.00

hope this gives you a rough idea , but it really does depend on how well you wanna live while your over here

  4. Umm... I'd bet on about 90 gbp per night (so around 140 US) in a hotel (for maybe a 3 star, but of course European standards are a little different, a 3 star in Europe is like a 2 in the US), and of course atleast 1000 on airfare. So much as meals, I'd say around 12 gbp (about 18 US) per meal if it's a decent one; as in not street food - but of course street food is always appreciated for a quick lunch of breakfast.

I'm not sure what train or bus fares would be from London to Wales - I'd try this website or google another online:

    http://www.data-wales.co.uk/wmap.htm

For cheap hotels and hostels I found a good site that may be of use to you:

    http://www.eurocheapo.com/

It does a pretty decent job finding lesser known/cheaper hotels and hostels. It sounds like Daventry is a smaller town so probably won't be as expensive as London.

So I'd say total maybe about 4500 - 5500 dollars US depending on how thrifty or not you wanna be? Hope that helps you out.

  5. From America  I reckon you bring about 20k american money
