I'm going to Paris on Friday and was wondering how much money i should get converted. I'm going by coach so that's Friday and Monday (The Day I come back), sorted and I wont have to pay for meals as my Grandparents are paying. So how much for Souvveniers and Excursions do you think that i should take for 2 days in the city of Lourve! (Love..with Lourve....Geddit?)

  1. Just take whatever you can afford.... Paris has a lot to offer. Ideally just take your debit card and take cash out an ATM as you need it.

    Have fun!

  2. £50 should do it unless you go shopping to the champs elyses then i would take £200

  3. Take your debit card.

It's a convenient way to draw out cash.

And by the way can you get me some f**s and a bottle of Pernod?

  4. Open a current account with Nationwide; it's the only UK account that provides a debit card with *no* commissions or fees on purchases or cash withdrawals; I use it frequently in Hungary and it's fantastic as I see the rate I get on my online banking, and it is always the same as the interbank offer rate.

Regardless of what bank card you use; if the ATM/seller offers to allow you to make the transaction in GBP, ALWAYS SAY NO; this will always load a bigger charge than you would ever get even if you weren't using a Nationwide debit card.

  5. I would say between 300 to 500 hundred euros. Why?! Between souvenirs for family and friends and museum and other things you want to see, not to forget shopping. It adds up.

  6. 300euros will be good or take 200pounds

  7. 150 Euros is probably enough.  Paris can be expensive if you are eating out etc. Buy water etc from the small convenience stores as it is much cheaper.

Be careful when out and about as pickpockets do operate in the tourist areas.  Also watch out for the caricature artists & street traders around the main attractions (Eiffel Tower etc) who will try to rip you off.

Montmartre Church (Sacre Coer) is well worth a visit and offers a view of the city that is just as good as the Eiffel Tower
