How much money should i bring...2 1/2 week vacation?

I am 17 and I'm going on vacation with my aunt, uncle, and 3 cousins. we will be going to san francisco (4 days), Los angeles (3 days), San Diego/ coronado (4 days), Phoenix(2 days), Des moines (4 days), and Las Vegas (3 days). i am from long island, ny and my uncle is taking care of all my meals, shows, transportation, etc. I just need to bring money to purchase things such as clothes and little things for myself, mom, dad, two brothers, and a few friends. Just wondering about how much i should bring. thanks

If you can take $1000.00 that is roughly $50/day.  I don't think you would need no more than that, especially since your uncle is covering most of the costs.

You and your parents should sit down with your Aunt and Uncle and ask them how much they are giving their children.  If they are younger than you, add in a little more.  I would say no more that $40 a Day suggest you take a journal along with you can write down how much you spend on everything.  See if your folks can make an arrangements with your Aunt and Uncle if you happen to spend all of your money can they lend you a little until you get home.  Don't spend every thing at the first place.  Ask each of your friends to make a list in order the places they would most like a souvenir from.  This way if you have one person that wants something from each stop it will be a lot better.  Also think about getting postcards from each place for your friends, you can usually get a deal like 4 cards for $2-3.  This way you can get your family nicer gifts.  I am sure your friends would be happy with postcards  Good Luck
