  1. I assume you are bringing enough clothing with you for the length of the trip.  So you don't need any money for clothing unless you are talking about shopping for some clothing to bring home.  Even then, prices in Hawaii are a little higher because of the increased transportation costs.  So don't by any clothing in Hawaii that you can also get at home for less.

The ship will not run out of food, and since the cost of the food on the ship is included, you will not have to pay extra for the food on the ship.  So you will not need any additional money for food unless you want to get a snack off the ship or eat at one of the optional extra cost restaurants on the ship.

That just leaves souvenirs (including clothing) and shore excursions.  In general I plan for about $100 per day, but that includes tips.  Since you state you are on a seven day cruise, I assume it is on one of the Norwegian Pride of ______ (Pride of America, Pride of Aloha and Pride of Hawaii).  Tips on Norwegian are covered in a mandatory  service charge, which means it will be charged to your room account.  Thus most likely your parents will be paying it.  Nonetheless, this amounts to $10 per day per person.

The $100 per day also includes things I buy on the ship, which includes photos and drinks.  However, you cannot buy anything on the ship, it all has to be charged to your room account.  If you are responsible for your charges, you can pay your parents back when you get home.  So that money does not have to be brought to Hawaii.

So, now we are only talking about off the ship purchases.  I how much do you usually spend when you go shopping for souvenirs?   I would think that $50 to $70 per day would be more than enough for a fifteen year old.  That would be $350 to $500 for the week.

  2. I'm from Hawaii (The Big Island) and I would say a few hundred bucks if you want to buy some souvenirs for friends, some clothes for yourself, and maybe a few extra items. I just wanted to let you know that since you are with a cruise, you'll be shopping at tourist traps. Everything will be marked up a little bit. I'd recommend $150-$300 depending on your shopping appetite.

  3. bring enough for clothes and a few drinks

the ship will provide your food and your parents the rest

  4. i would recomend bringing a debet or credit card. cause you'll probobly want between 100 and 200 dollars. it's not a good idea to carry large amounts of cash. if you only have cash, give it to your parents to put in their account, and then they can take it out for you as needed.

  5. maybe 300

i have been to hawaii nd thats how much i brought

    it was plenty

  6. aloha,,honey have a wonderful time,,,hawaii is absolutely beautiful..

save the bulk of your spending money for when you landfall in lahaina maui,,and you will..because that is where you will find the best bargains, and the best shopping.

its a long street of clothes stores, jewelry and gifts.  right on the water..you will love it...

try the local foods,,,,go to a luau.  experience all there is,,,surf sun, sand and all else,,,depending on when you are going from dec. to the end of march the humpback whales are there, approximately 3000, throughout the islands...if you go during this period make sure you do a whale watching tour...its a once in a lifetime experience....

oh...and to the idiot that said read a book make something of yourself...he is a jealous idiot,,,probably never been anywhere and done anything,,,sits in his little room reading about other people enjoying life...experience, is the best learning experience there is...there is a huge world full of wonder out there....go find it and enjoy,,,

and dont forget how lucky you are to have parents who realize the importance of spending time with there children and how much the love you, to take you with them...be grateful...happy and most of all "live aloha"         youll understand that one when you go there....
