How much money should i receive for attending an out of state school that is across the river?

it is Ivy Tech in INdiana and im in Louisville, KY and it say my tuition is 5500 or something and it says my cost of attendance will exceed 20,000 with room and board how does that work if I do not need room and board.

  1. They give you money to cover your expenses involved in commuting. But you're making a big mistake. I tried commuting when I started college. I flunked out. Learn from my bitter experience.  The money you'll get won't be enough. It never is. They don't cover dental work, eye exams, glasses, medical care.
