  1. yes, thats good, take mostly ones...change means nothing to them. and be careful if you use an ATM, make sure its in english...

  2. the safes are safe since you set the code for them.  You should bring how ever much you plan to spend. Even with the all inclusive, you may decide to eat out elsewhere. If you don't bring cash, credit cards are accepted. Plus there are many shops that you will probably be looking through. To be safe, use traveler checks and creit cards. They are the most easily replaced if lost or stolen on your trip.

    Have fun!

  3. Bring your ATM card and get money out as needed in pesos.  you will get the best exchange rate that way and not need to cary large amts. of cash.

  4. If you never leave the resort, it's unlikely that you will need that much.  The waiters and maids at your AI, though, will definitely appreciate any tip on top of their meager wages and you will likely find them showing their appreciation generously.  However, any shopping or eating/drinking away from the resort will determine how much cash you'll want.

Bring your ATM card but be certain to notify your bank that you will be using it in Mexico so that it's not locked for unusual activity.  Same with credit cards, but be warned that credit cards are NOT widely accepted here in smaller shops and restaurants.  Also know that using travelers checks is often difficult or impossible.  ATM would be the first choice, then changing your US cash to pesos, and finally, paying in dollars.  The current street exchange rate has recently dropped to 9 pesos to the dollar here, and I even saw a gas station on Saturday with a posting of 8 pesos to the dollar.  You will get the best possible rate by using an ATM.

  5. I would calculate the minimum amount of money you need and take that amount in cash. You should never take more money than you need in mexico.

  6. Yeah, there are safes in the rooms.  Bring enough money to tip generously, these people are often very poor and tips make a big difference.  Also take enough money to have fun and buy sounvenirs.  Dont worry too much about the money situation because there are usually ATM machines at all inclusives.

    have fun:)
