Question:

How much money will I need for a trip to Venice/Lake Garda?

I am going Garda/Venice in a few weeks with my husband and am a bit worried about finances as people keep telling me how ridiculously expensive it is. We are going to Garda for 4 days then Venice for 2. Excluding accomodation how much money can I expect to need while we're there? I don't want to blow the budget massively but also don't want to be penny pinching the whole time.

  1. its always nice to have a plastic card for back up you can use your normal credit card but I couldn't justify spending more than £300 for 6 days even though a lot of countries are using the euro as an excuse for doubling charges, query them.

  2. don't warry so much, just ask for the prices before bying anything, buy food at the shops and mostly bring water...you won't spend more than 50 euro a day, enjoying your stay.

Coffe is 85 euro cents, cappuccino 1,25...brioche 70, sandwich can cost 3 euro, piece of good pizza the same, museum from 3 to 7 - 8 euro. The central places are more expencieve, what costs the most is if you sit. Toilettes are available every public place. ask if you need more informations

  3. I'm afraid they are both very expensive. As the last answer said, take some plastic for back-up
