Be prepared to work 70 hours a week. Long hours and low pay at first at least. If you get your class A license the companies will require you to run with a trainer until he feels you're able to handle the job. Training pay is always low. Driving over the road you might make $35,000 first year if you run hard. They don't start you out making much money per mile. It goes up with experience. A good driver for a good company can make over $70,000 but that is with lots of experience and seniority.
