How much money will you get for scrapping a (whole house) Oil Tank?

I am debating on wether to just have someone haul this thing away or if it would be worth it to scrap it myself??

for a junk yard to take it, it will need to be cut in half (that way they can be sure it has no haz mat in it.  then, you're looking at about 7 cents a pound.  so you'de be lucky to get 40 for it.

but if it's going to COST 100 to haul it away,  then it's worth it.

It would depend on how clean and the total weight.

Could go the other way & have some cost to removal of tank & lines.

Depending on town regs you may have a problem w/ disposal of any waste oil & ground testing.

If a scrapper will come & take it away  it for free.......

Might be the best deal if they are certified for tank disposal or are agents for fuel suppliers.
