How much money would I make working as a Speech Language Pathologist in Costa Rica?

I would really like to work there for a year or so after my CFY so I can become more proficient in Spanish then come back to the US to work with hispanic children here. Can anyone help me figure out how much money I could make there when compared to the cost of living? Would this be worth doing? Thanks!

Two of your three questions are VERY subjective.  Do you want to go to Costa Rica mainly to become proficient in Spanish or to make money?  This question of mine has to do with your question, "Would this be worth doing?"  (The money or the proficiency?)

I realize it would be nice to accomplish both feats, but in the real world of Costa Rica, I think you better pick one.  I'm sure you can understand that you cannot make the money that you would in the States.

It would help you tremendously if you could find someone to share expenses with, especially rent and transportation.
