I am more interested in a number than whether or not he would make the cut. Even par will get you into quite a few tournaments. Obviously your not going to get into majors and such if you only shoot par.

  1. on the PGA he probably wouldnt make the cut and on the nationwide probably a few hundred if he was lucky

i had a friend that made 6 cuts on the nationwide tour and only earned £38000 (not that good is it for 6 cuts?)

yea where he finished was a real acheviment but i mean that the money isnt that good considering where he finished,

because if he done that on the PGA then he would have made a lot more cash

  2. Most tournaments they would not make the cut.  No cuts means no invites to the majors, which are the only tournaments where par can win.

  3. depends on the year. I researched it one year and you would have won two tournaments and  placed in the top ten 4 times.

which would have placed you in the top thirty for the year

    easier said than done

  4. mmmmmmmmmmmmm

  5. it doesn't matter if he shot even par you need to be high on the leaderboard to make plenty money and i mean PLENTY money

  6. Without going to every leaderboard this is an off-the-cuff analysis.  Taking the three players that have averaged 72s (par) for their first two rounds (average of all 1stn & 2nd rounds) all year (2007).  The income average was 580K.  Top was 1Mil, bottom was 215K.

The three players meeting this spec were R Goosen, R Palmer and D Stiles.

I do somewhat agree that a player that shot par on EVERY round would probably win one or two tournaments a year (and guess what, it would also probably include one major.)  They also would miss a lot of cuts on the big resort courses and those tourney that the guys simply go low.
