How much money would i need to built a trebuchet?

That's an open-ended question. You can build one from nearly free to tens of thousands of dollars, depending on lots of factors. How big do you want it to be and what do you want to throw (and how far).

I built one mostly from salvaged materials and stuff I had on-hand, buying only wood screws and a piece of pipe, total cost less than ten bucks, and it threw baseballs 250 feet. Later improvements (and expense) increased that to over 500.

(Due to inflation it would be more money now, and a LOT of work went into it, plus it wasn't my first. This is just to give you an idea.)

Just go hack down your neighbour's cheryy tree to build into a trebuchet.  If he complains hack his head off for some ammo.
