But I don't know how much it would cost to run it for 5 hours. I live in California. Thanks so much!

  1. 7-10 bucks per month I think

  2. It draws 4.9 amps with the compressor running.

Times 115 volts is 563 watts or about 1/2 killowatt per hour. My basic rate for electricity is $0.075 per killowatt hour (KWH). Since I rounded down on watts I will round up to 8 cents an hour (there are taxes too).

So it works out to about 4 cents an hour. If you want it more exact, figure your own rates which can differ, our electricity is not too pricey here, and then use the full 563watts times your rate.

Also be aware that is with the compressor running. If it is cycling off when it reaches temperature it costs much less. I would guess less than a 1/3 to keep the fan running.

So I figure about 20 cents for 5 hours for me if it is running full out.

  3. See how many BTU is your ac . 1 KW = 3.413 BTU per hour. So a 10000 BTU ac will use about 3 kWh X $ rate where u live =$/hr X as may hr u use the ac u get the usage.

  4. Air conditioners in conjunction with ceiling fan when use correct, doesn't cost much to run.
