Question:

How much more do you think my settlement will possibly go up?

I was in an auto accident, and I have an attourney. My lawyer said that with paying all my bills and everything else that I would walk away with about 1100.00. I was first offered 250.00 when I didn't have a lawyer.

My lawyer just told me that the insurance company didn't have one of my medical bills for 1200.00.

Would this increase my settlement a couple hundred dollars possibly?

  1. Typically when the insurance company is provided w/ an additional medical bill you can expect the offer to go up by at least that amount.

  2. It may increase the settlement by the $1200, but you will probably still be responsible for the bill unless it was already paid.  If the treatment date extends your disability period, it may increase the settlement value ever so slightly.   Ask you attorney, isn't that why you retained him?

  3. Since you are paying your attorney typically a third of your settlement to answer your questions, and represent your interests, take any and all questions to him, not here.
