  1. Well, many of the Paris sights don't really need to cost anything. Especially if you have limited time its not really worth waiting in lines to go up the Eiffel Tower or climb to the top of Notre Dame. So most things you'll view form the outside (like theEiffel Tower) or go into for free (lNotre Dame, for example,  is a working church so unless you pay to climb up the bell tower or tour the "treasury" you just walk in and look around.)

Food has a lot of variables. Take a look at the menu for Chartier, not because I suggest you go there but because its well known and considered moderately priced. http://www.restaurant-chartier.com/www/v...

You can get an idea of what moderate prices are like from their menu.

  2. One thing to remember is that the currency is the Euro.  The prices are pretty much the same as in Canada except that the Euro is worth twice as much so therefor a 5 Euro trip to McDonald's will really cost 10 Canadian dollars.  The prices in France are very similar to Canada except for the exchange rate.  Hope that helps.

  3. I don't think you will find Paris much more expensive than Toronto, and if you like wine, you will find THOSE prices MUCH less expensive!

For sightseeing, you might want to investigate the Paris Museum passes.  They give you unlimited access to many of the popular attractions and no waiting in lines - you go to a special no waiting entrance!  This is great too because you don't have to feel pressured to finish the Louvre all in one walkabout.  You can go, see a bit, take a break , come back later.   You can even make a separate stop in to browse the gift shops!

It also includes Ste Chapelle where the breathtaking colors of the stained glass change with each day's light.  Come and go three or four times to experience it!

I'm not sure if they have youth passes but adults are about 48 euros for 3 day pass.  I found it well worth the time and tiring standing on queue.

For meals, make a nice lunch your main meal.  Prix fixe lunches include usually 3 courses.  Dinners are more expensive, and also start later in the evening (9-10) so might be tiring for teens.  For an evening meal, there are plenty of street vendors and small bistros, especially in the Latin Quarter.  Toasted baguettes, gyros, wonderful ice creams.

Speaking of ice cream -- don't miss Berthillion on Isle de la Cite.  Its a bit of a splurge, but quite a treat!

    Bon Voyage et Bon Apetit!
