How much more money do you spend now that your girlfriend lives with you?

Men: How much more does having a girlfriend in your house cost you and where does that extra money come from?

Women: How much should your boyfriend spend on you now that you've moved into his apartment. What kinds of things should he be paying for?

Oh my god!  This is so maddening to read!  In my life, its mostly men I see living...excuse me...totally sponging off of women!!

See, now that he and I moved in together, we don't spend as much on things that we used to. We split the rent 50/50 every month, which pretty much drains my paycheck but that's besides the point. We'll each get groceries when needed, but I have a better rate on my credit card so I tend to put most of our joint purchases on it. The problem is, I often get stuck paying for the whole balance. He does make it up to me by taking our dogs to the vet when needed and other little things that save me time and money. Ideally I'd like to have a communal checking account but that's not happening anytime soon with our funds at the moment. Anyway, I think once you live together it's not necessary to spend as much money because you're working for a greater goal - living together without killing each other. Aren't we at this point beyond little gifts all the time?

I have lived with my boyfriend for about a year now. I just turned 18. He has spent so much on me its not even funny. and i appreciate it soo much.
