How much more taming do i need to do to get my parakeet fully tame?

Question

i have two parakeets i havent started taming the female but the male is kinda tame i guess. hes tame enough that i can pet his stomach and back when he has a clear escape route how much more taming do i need to do before i can let him out and have him perch on my shoulder?

i know alot about parakeets because i have 3 they where hard to tame all i can say is that you keep trying to take him out if he does it good with out flying give him his favorte treat

i think you should get their wings clipped, so then you can take it out of the cage slowly, and if it jumps and flaps his/her wings, that would mean if the wings wer not clipped you would have a flying bird around your house. it could be very dangerous if this happens. you can then try taming them more outside the cage and as new wings grow, they wont be new to being outside the cage. hope this helps.
