I'm 5'5 and was almost 155 lbs. I've worked to lose weight the past few weeks and am down to 145 lbs.

I know that I can easily work out and control my eating habits to maintain any weight, but how much more do you think I should try to lose before I am satisfied and want to maintain a weight??

  1. 6 pounds

  2. The ideal weight for a person who is 5'5 is from 120 - 135 lbs. But this is just for the average person - everyones different. Once your happy with your self then your perfect!

  4. about 30 lbs

  5. I'd say 20 pounds and you'll LOVE your body -

It depends on whether you want to be skinny, average, or heavy.

125 is the absolute average for a female who is 5'5"

    115-120, you'd look skinny.

    150, would be heavy.

  6. Rather than have a target number plan a healthy diet and regular moderate exercise.  If you do not lose anything alter the diet and/or exercise until you slowly lose weight but you still feel good.  After a few months you should reach a plateau. If you are healthy and feel good about yourself let that be your weight.  Keep track of your weight and if you start to gain make a small adjustment. I started at 225 and over a period of years have reached 155 which really feels good and is easy to maintain.  for example if I had tried to reach 155 in 90 days I would have struggled and felt bad and probably have some health problems. This way my only problem was getting new clothes about once a year....  going from a 44 inch waist to a 36 inch waist (actually closer to 35 inch)  If you are young and still growing you might have to make some other adjustments.  If you reach 5'7" you will need a few more pounds.

  7. I am also 5'5. I went to the doctor one time 3 years ago and stepped on the scale and weighed 162 lbs. After that I started counting calories and exercising more. I got all the way down to 117 lbs but I had to agree with everyone around me that I looked too skinny at that weight. I am now fluctuating between 126-128. I liked the way I looked the best around 125. However it all depends on your bone structure and frame size as to what will look best on you. I would say I am small to medium frame. Most importantly dont worry so much with a number or what other people think. You should stop at a point where you feel good about yourself and where you feel like you look and feel your best. Good Luck.

  8. How do YOU feel with that weight and how you look? I don't think you need to lose much more than 5 pounds.
