How much notice does my employer have to give to change my hours?

i arrive at work at lunchtime each day and my boss just makes me work until he no longer needs me, usually late at night around midnight.

  1. No notice.

    Lots of workers don't find out until they are at work that they need to stay and put in"overtime" to meet production deadlines.

    If you don't like that environment, start looking for a career change.


  2. well he can do what he wants he is the boss but you have a right to fair hours and working conditions if you dont like it talk to him or quit he has to give you no prior notice.

  3. He should give you 24 hours of any time changes or increase in hours unless you agree to them. He can't make you work longer then you scheduled hours either, over time is voluntary not required.

  4. If you do not have a contract, you do not have set hours. Were you aware that there would not be set hours when you took the job? I would sit down with him - if you like the job - and try to set hours. If not, you may want to look elsewhere.
