  1. quite a big role if you're talking about being "the best", like professional or olympic standard, but the genes only give potential, the athlete has to train hard and well and have the desire and mental strength to excel.

  2. I think that genes play a big role in how people preform. thier that or they are just blessed with this natural ability to be good at something like basketball, or running. Another example is how people are built. If you are built like a runner, you have skinny legs and have a good stride. Now that doesn't mean that all people that fon't have skinny legs aren't runners, they just may not get that natural ability. But if you are built like a runner, then you had to have got it from some where.

  3. genes can give people the potential to be good at sports..

your genes can give you physical attributes such as long legs which are better for running etc but it takes hard work, deication and practise to be good at a particular sport, your genes can also give you better hand to eye coordination which would make you better at controling a basket ball or hitting a ball with a bat

  4. Interesting question, while genes will code for the elasticity of tendons and muscles so determining the ease and efficiency of physical activity and also code for the receptors of adrenalin and endorphins, influencing how much pleasure a person can feel from activity. The actual drive or pressure to be physically active is more likely to come from the environment and personal inclination.

  5. Some but they only really give the edge when you reach nearly your normal max capacity. Usually people give up, train wrong or dont diet right so they seem to not have the edge.
