including time served?

Remember, it was a jury of hand-picked military officers (no bleeding heart liberals) and a hand-picked judge who decided the sentence and time served.

Does the sentence reflect on how much of a joke that the military tribunals are and what the military's opinion of them is?

  1. that SOG Bush would care less the guy has no shame. he got away with an illegal war that has killed million people so far. most of the people accused of terrorism in U.S. political prisons are innocent. they have been in prison for a long time. many were tortured and some even committed suicide.

mercer devil: you brought up an interesting point. " funny how Bush wanted to throw the book at bin Laden's personal driver."  looks like it is a pattern with Bush since he tried to throw the book at Saddam for the 9/11 attack and many people bought into it!  peace

  2. Very telling of the way reasonable people view his policies.  Regardless of the fact that The Pentagon has final say over whether they will honor the sentence or hold him longer, it shows how out of touch this administration is with reality.

  3. They let Hitlers driver go.

  4. Sounds like the military personnel care about justice to me.  Bush might not like it, but that's because he is motivated more by vendettas than by justice.  I find it funny how Bush wanted to throw the book at bin Laden's personal driver, but is not that concerned over whether or not they catch bin Laden himself.  This is proof Bush does not have a rational view of the world.

  5. I hope that this isn't the highest level official they are going to try. I don't know if I would consider Bin Laden's driver to be a terrorist. The guy got 5 1/2 years for driving Bin Laden around. I don't think this guy played any role in the attacks on 9/11. I don't think that a driver was really a key player in the organization.

  6. After finding out this guy was just a flunky with a 4th grade education, I felt he should just be sentenced to time served and be sent home.

This is proof that the military system of justice works.

  7. It didn't seem like the guy deserved a really harsh sentence just because he wasn't involved in the organization other than driving Bin Laden around.
