According to "A Crude Awakening", i believe someone in the documentary stated that 97 percent of the world's energy comes from oil. Is this true? If so, please reference it if you can. Thank you.

  1. i have no idea!! im only 14 so its not my buiseness..

however i recall a lesson year ago in school that says that the echo-power generated is less than (something like) 14%

so oil, gas etc... is maybe 85-90%???

  2. 97%? Yeah right.. Guess that documentary for got about 20% froim Nuclear and over 50% from Coal...  Oil runs our transportation system and Coal our Electrical system...

  3. I have no 'energy' to research this question.. but certainly the world .. the western world remains dependent on oil.

  4. To the person who posted saying that they're only 14 years old and it's not their business... Right now, oil prices are sky high. You're 14. At the rate that oil prices are going, by the time you're 21, you won't even be able to fill up your cars gas tank with gasoline. So, it is your business. The sooner you start thinking about these things and taking action, the better.

I'm not sure exactly how much of the world's energy comes from fossil fuels, but it is the majority. The world's population is booming, too, because of the use of fossil fuels. If there were ever a mass shortage, the world would be a horrible place filled with miserable, starving people.

    Go nuclear.
