How much of your personality is down to your parents?

How much do you get from genetics, how much from your environment etc?

Your personality is up to you.  You decide how you want to be although it is true both your parents and your genetic make-up are what got you to the point of deciding how you want to be about the whole thing.

I am no expert, but I think that you don't get your personality genetically... you pick up some habits from your parents because of you living with them. Most of it is from your environment though, I think. If you live in the ghetto's versus the rich suburbs, for example.

The majority is genetic . Things that happen to us in life transform us either for good or bad. Have you ever seen twins who were separated at birth and reunited? The similarities are striking, down to hair style and clothing, even their mannerisms are the same. I've seen uncle and nephew have the same characteristics even though the two have never met. So, yeah, the majority.
