  1. about a cup in the morning and a cup at dinnertime

  2. Once a day is fine- but twice a day is healthier because they have balanced meals.

Naturally they would eat whenever they got food.[That's why dogs over eat]

Look on the back of the dog food bag you buy.

I have a adult male golden retriever and I feed him however much can fill up a coffee can.[dry food]  And I feed him  once a day.

If you really are worried about it call your vet, they always know.

If you know the website of your dog food like pedigree, they will tell you how much to feed him.[Assuming she is a healthy dog]

Personally I would trust the dog food bag or the vet.

  3. I would feed her twice a day, once in the morning and once at dinner time, of course how much you feed her depends on how much exercise she gets too.- Watch her weight if she gets skinny feed her more if she starts to get to heavy feed her less. So many people way over feed their dogs-giving them table scraps through out the day I think letting your dog get too fat is abusive. Some dogs will keep eating and eating and not know when to stop.

  4. about a cup in the morning and the evening ought to do it

give or take depending on your dogs appetite

  5. i had a chocolate lab. and they are pigs, unless you regulate their food. so i would give her a scoop in the morning and one at night. with exercise i kept her weight down and the vet was happy. sorry i don't know how big the scoop was.

  6. twice a day feed her a treat once in a while but always bring her out to the park play fetch or jog with her so she stays in shape

  7. it depends on the dog food. if you are feeding her grocery brand, twice a day, but if you are feeding her the good stuff, once a day is good enough. call your vet, its free and you'll find out from a professional. it also should say on the bag of dog food.

  8. I have a golden retriever and we feed him twice aday, and we give him 2 cup fulls of dry dog food, it shud really say on the side of the bag of food.

  9. once a day.

and probably 2 or three cups

  10. three times a day for puppies and two times for adults

  11. once for puppies 3 for biggys

  12. This is a loaded question.

    What kind of dogfood?

    Is the dog active?

    Is the dog overweight?

Each food has different reccomendations based on what is in it.

Regardless she should get two meals a day - AM and PM

  13. I prefer to feed my dogs 3 times a day. Morning, evening, and right before bed. It's better for their metabolism. Additionally, it depends on whether it's dry food or wet food, and whether your dog is a "free feeder." A free feeder will only eat what they want, and leave the rest for later. This type of dog generally won't ever eat too much.

But if it's store bought dog food (I make my own dog food) usually you can follow the directions on the bag. If this seems to be making your dog plump, cut back. That's usually the vet's suggestion.

  14. Twice a day is better for her metabolism.  And feed a good quality dog food.  Start with their recommendations on the package and adjust for her.  Ideally you should be able to feel her ribs without having to poke in, but not be able to see them.  And she should have a waist line if your standing over her looking down.

  15. Well we have two dogs who are both very small...We feed them twice a day, half a plate of kibbles and bits, and half a container of Caesar meat.

Since your dog is roughly seven times the weight, I would say at least one full container of the Caesar per day, plus a plate full of kibbles.

But you should also just try to tell if your dog seems extra hungry or not, and give her less or more accordingly.

  16. She is a big dog. I would give her a big bowl of dry dog food to last about 2 or 3 days. She will eat when she is hungry. It's better than waiting to see if she's hungry or not. Because you never know if she is hungry or if she just wants to play or go outside. Like I said, Get a big bowl and fill it for her. She will eat how ever much she wants and when she is hungry.

  17. Once a day, and you should determine how much by watching how much she eats.  If you feed her once a day, it will also have to be a larger amount.

  18. ok i have 2 golden retrievers! :D

and i feed them a cookie (dog bone) in the morning and a cup of dog food at night . they are on a diet .. and your seems a little chunky to . go to the vet see what they say ... they should be eating a good food that if they exercise a lot should have a least 26g ofproteinn ,... but to much could hurt your dog.. and also look for foodsthat'ss are not fatty ... go to pets mart and look at all the nutrion facts. Please ask the Vet.

  19. twice a week cause i once played with a golden retriever'

  20. Give her about a cup and a half of dry food in the morning, a cup and a half at night. You can mix in some wet food if she won't eat dry food by itself.

There should be a feeding chart/directions on the back of your dog food bag. If not then look on the back of other dog food bags next time you go food shopping for your dog.
