Does our society even have a real fix on this data?

Or is it, the lack of real data,......just hocus pocus, to keep the average citizen from being justifiably pissed off?

  1. Look, if you insist you own Oil is left in the ground (in Alaska etc.), you are making a choice to pay whatever others are asking :-)

  2. Check with the state corporation commissions or the US Geological Survey, USGS,or state Geological Surveys.  Or maybe the Independent Petroleum Producers Association, IPPA.  Independent companies produce almost 70 percent of the oil produced in the US, and a little over 80 percent of the natural gas.  Or the Department of Energy. One of those organizations should have the information.  But I'm not sure which.

  3. I suggest you go to the website www.iea.org/statistics.  It has all the data for the entire world.  Remember also that "oil" is a very generic term.  We consume hydrocarbons for fuel that come from coal and natural gas and a few other non-petroleum substances, and that petroleum comes in many grades and is then refined into many products including jet fuel, gasoline, heating oil, and diesel among others.
