  1. What does the maintenance book say?

Is there a boat repair facility nearby? Could you ask there?

You could also try asking Marine Engine Services at Uxbridge 01895 236246. info@marineengine.co.uk

  2. Is this a trick question??  Isn't the Lister SR3 a 3 cylinder diesel engine??  I dont think diesels need oil do they??

  3. When in doubt add 1 gt check till full on dip stick when full run then check add till full>>Change the fuel filter also>>And trans>if it has a lot of time on it>>My cats say 12 but take 15 as it has 2 large filters>>

  4. Buy a 5 gallon drum of lube oil (its cheaper that way) and you will have plenty for a couple of oil changes and topping up in between. Our local P.O. keeps Duckhams "Fleetol",which is suitable for most engines.

  5. well about three quarter full

  6. SR3's are used in narrowboats as well - very common - so any inand waterways marina will know the answer, just call your nearest.

Canalworld's forums have lots of lister people on there, i've seen questions about oil changes ./ problems starting engines after the oil change ( you might want to read them ! )

Also, canal junction forums are very good,t hey will know instantly:
