My daughter is invited to a classmates birthday party and when I asked the little girl what she wanted, she said a giftcard to Justice (girls clothing store). How much should I make the giftcard for? I don't want to seem cheap, but we are on a budget. How much would you give a 9 year old?

  1. 15.00-20.00$

  2. 9 year olds already wanting gift cards for clothing stores?

I'd say $20-but let your daughter pick out something for her friend (its more fun than giving a gift card) and just be sure to give the mother the gift receipt.

  3. its a nine year old....20 bucks is more than enough

  4. I think $15 is very reasonable.

  5. how about u just go the store and pick out something ur daughter may think her friend would like. that will save u some money cuz u may find something on sale.

  6. I think $10-$15 would be perfect. My nephew just had his 9th birthday a few weeks ago and a lot of people gave him cards with cash or gift cards, and most were for $10 or $15. He was really excited. I also think its good for kids to have to use their own money to buy things, it makes them choose a lot more carefully what they want when its coming out of their pocket. Just do that and get her a cute card. Good Luck

  7. Go to the store and find something you might buy for the child and then give her a gift card for the same amount.  My guess would be $15 to $20 max.

  8. i normally give a £5 gift card and a slab of choc.

  9. 9 year olds already wanting giftcards to clothing stores? When I was 9, I was happy to get a Barbie doll.

I'd go for $10, and get her some nice hair clips, bobbles, slides etc as well.

  10. $15, maybe.

But I wouldn't just give the gift card.  I would get a cheap gift for the girl to unwrap, and include the gift card with it.  For example, a box of candy with the gift card inside.  Or a stuffed animal holding the card.  Check out your local dollar store.

If you really just want to give the card, you should wrap it in a cool way.  Like take an "Altoids" box, and have your daughter decorate it.  Those boxes are the perfect size to hold a gift card.

  11. 15-20

  12. I would think it would depend on how close they are as friends.  Minimum amount $10; max $20.

  13. I would think $15 would be fine.  You could even go down to $10 if she is telling other people the same thing and will probably get several cards.

  14. Probably $25-$35

  15. I agree with the other posters--15 dollars would be ideal. 10 would seem pretty cheap, but anything over 20 would be a little bit extravagant, considering her age. 15 dollars should be enough to buy a cute top, or something.

  16. i wouldn't go over $20... i think $10-15 would be fine... especially for a 9 year old. maybe also get her something cheap, like a necklace or a chocolate bar or something like that.
