How much on average do temp agencies cut out of your paycheck?

I know that when I work for a temp agency they are paid by the client (the business where I am working). I was just curious what the average pay cut percentage would be that the agency keeps for themselves.

  1. ~~Usually temp agencies hire you for let's say $10.00 and hour, but when your are working they may charge the company $15,00 and hour. So they aren't really charging you per say, but charging the company. This is to cover their overhead and the insurance they have to have on you. If you went to that company and got hired directly, they would probably pay about the same rate they were charging for you (maybe).~~

  2. I used to do temping serveral years ago, and the agency would never tell me what their cut was. It was only when I became friends with my manager at work that I found out what they were actually paying the temp agency for my work: $14 per hour. I was taking home $9. It's quite a huge chunk, eh?

  3. 2.00 to3.00 dollers per hour

Example I worked for 15.00 an hour they got paid 19.00
