  1. Depends on the area you are moving in and how much you are willing to spend on decorations.

Im on the same boat as you && where im trying to move its EXPENSIVE so i have to be real REALLL patient :) and save first haha!

    GOOD LUCK!!

  2. Around $1,500.

  3. well you need first months rent, security deposit (which is usually the same amount as the rent). that plus all sorts of various security deposits on utility companys such as gas, water, electricity, etc. (depends on your credit score and the area)... then you need money for groceries, furniture (which, you dont have to buy new, go to garage sales and thrift stores), bathroom stuff (towels and curtains and such), cleaning stuff (mop, broom, vacuum, etc). so figure all those costs adjusted to your lifestyle, and tada! you have your answer!

  4. i just moved into an apartment and i blew thru about $2000 in a couple of months.  that's with 2 other people living w me too.  don't forget to consider pro rate and first month's rent.  also, some places offer a monthly discount if you sign a 12 mo. contract or so.  we went from $650/ mo to $550/ mo.

if you have any more q's and would like a more detailed answer, itscaramel

  5. Depends on what area of the country you live. But be prepared to pay the first and last months rent plus a cleaning deposit. I would imagine you will need at least $1500.00 just to move in. As far as decorating, depends on your taste and your budget. I know you can pick up some functional pieces of furniture at the thrift stores and if you have the tools and space you can refurbish most of the pieces. A futon is very functional. If you have an IKEA store near you that would be the place to go if you want new furniture. The one thing I would stay away from -- the furniture and appliance rental stores. The monthly fee you will pay will be greater than buying pieces on lay away, or credit.

  6. It really depends on the city

  7. An apartment made of hay would be cheaper than an apartment made of stone!

  8. There are too many variables to give you a good figure.

But, in the hundreds.  You have to think about first and last month's rent, startup fees for all utilities, first month's utitilies, and depending on how much decorating you want to do, add that in as well.

I've moved twice in the past two years.  The first was to an apt. and the startup fees were more than I could have imagined.  I got a bit of a discount on my second move, though, for staying with the same companies.

  9. Well, some places you have to pay first and last and security - so lets just say your rent is 700 - that is 2100 right there.

Depending on how much you want your place to look nice... when I was looking around for bedroom sets and living room furniture, etc... it cost around $4000 to furnish the entire place. It was $1000 for the living room (two sofas, end tables, lamps, coffee table) $1500 for the bedroom (bed, dresser, night stand, mattress) Then the kitchen set which was a little over $100. Then you have the TV, entertainment center, any extra lamps and dishes, towels, vaccum, etc - will add up to close to 6100 all together. Give or take.

  10. Well, you have the cost of the apartment plus any deposits.

For furniture, if you rent your furniture through a furniture rental company, it is not one lump sum and it would be more affordable to do it that way.  If you just need living room furniture then you could rent it for about $30 or less a week.
