I will be heading to england from february to april next year and was just wondering what sort of money i would need to budget for my trip : ).

I've found a really good place to stay where I can have really good accomodation for 300 pounds a week and id have a brit rail pass so i wouldnt have to worry about train fares. Would 150 pounds a week be enough for everything else??

Sorry if this is a silly question! But thank you so much to anyone that can help! :)

  1. Wiltshire is a largely rural area with little public transport. I doubt you will be able to get a pass for bus or rail.

I suggest that on arrival at your Wiltshire destination you call in at the bus and rail depots and pick up a copy of the (usually free) route maps and timetables. Then just pay as you go.

Wiltshire is not too expensive and £150 will cover your needs provided your not too extravagant.

The only downside is that your coming in the winter/early spring. If it snows rural areas can get cut off.

  2. depends what you'll be doing in a week, if you're eating out everyday, you'll need a tenner at least for food a day (£70 for the week for food, but yeh £150 quid a week would be more than enough, i live here and thats all i have to survive on and i rent a flat, drive a car etc!
