  1. A: I dont know exactly how much you would need, but i would say lots

I dont know how much you would earn doing the job you were offered, but tokyo is a very expensive city.

I dont actually live there, so i cant say for sure like the previous contributer, but there isnt alot of living space in the city, and accomodation is expensive. I would do some research and try to find other expats who have lived in tokyo to ask advice from.

Good luck, Im very envious! I would love to be offered a job in tokyo! So I would say go for it anyway! lol  :D

  2. It depends on how many families you have.

If you are single, you can manage to live with 250K yen for 1 month. But if you are a family of 4, I think you need 400K yen.

If your kids are going to college or something, you need some more for their education.

  3. Housing is deep subject for living in Tokyo.

What do you do your accommodations? Whether the company offer by their account or not is basic factor.

In addition all deductible income tax and residential tax, national pension and public insurance too. Does your company care these things for you or not? I mean gross amount doesn't mean net amount into your bank deposit.

If you are single and about LH 20 something, native English and fluent Japanese speaker, I guess US$5K to $6K gross amount without any  free accommodation would be in average roughly, just roughly.

I think it is not too easy to enjoy decent life in Tokyo and not possible to spare money except bonus.
