  1. a meter times a meter thats how much AREA it is

  2. About 10.7639 square feet.

    A meter is 39.37 inches.

    A foot is 12 inches.

Hence, a meter is 3.2808 feet.

A square meter is (3.2808)-squared square feet.

  3. just imagine a square whose sides are equal to 1meter (3.28 ft). if you have a measuring tape and some chalk you can draw on your floor.

  4. 1m^2 = (3.28ft)^2

    = 10.76ft^2

  5. Do you have a meter stick? It is a meter wide by a meter long. A meter is about the same as a yard.

    How big compared to what?

  6. 1 meter up and 1 meter across. 100 centimeters up and 100 across. I think you get it

    l----

  7. A square meter is an area of a plane that is equal to a square that has side length of 1m.

So if you imagine drawing a perfect square on the ground, and make each side of the square 1 meter long, then the space that the square takes up is 1 square meter.

    (1x1 = 1)

Now, if you did the same thing with a larger square, making each side TWO meters, then the area inside the square is found by multiplying 2x2

Which equals 4. So the area would be 4 square meters.

if you made the sides THREE meters long, then you would say 3x3

    so 9 square meters.

    All good?

  8. It's a square that's a meter long on each side.
