  1. my brother-in-law was given a ticket for doing 61 in a 55 zone...so i guess they can pretty much give you one for anything over the speed limit if they want to be pricks about it...

  2. depends on the cop, but really there is a 5 mile cushion.

  3. It depends on the cop, the area, the speed limit + total speed, driving conditions, in your home county/state etc...

I got nailed for 110 in a 65 once and I got a ticket,  "drive safe" and on my way I went. If they feel like it, I believe most areas can do it as low as 25-30 over. If you are doing 40-50 in a residential you can bet your sweet @$$ they will!!!

The main thing they will get you for regardless of speed is wreckless and dangerous driving. I've seen people get puled over for doing 160 and they got a real nasty warning and no ticket, so it also depends highly on how bad the cop wants to bust you. It's a lot of paperwork and court and sometimes you get lucky, but it's best not to push it anyways!

  4. You will always get ticketed for driving above the speed limit and it can range from 1mph over the limit to whatever just depending on the cop you get, some wont get you for going 5-10 over and some will, just gotta be lucky.

Now to get arrested it would be for Reckless Driving which would include speeding + unsafe lane changes in willful disregard to other persons, intentionally causing damage to property and/or other vehicles, or causing bodily harm to another person-Section 12022.7 of the Penal Code.

  5. There are some places even in my hometown that the police will give you a ticket for going 1 mile over the speed limit..

"Speed Limit" that is the limit that you can drive.

  6. 1 MPH... usually not, but is possible.

  7. 10 to 15 most likely

  8. .

Keep increasing your speed in 10mph increments and, if you haven't collided with a tree, vehicle or pedestrian, you'll find out....

    .

  9. many US states  allow  a +   of  6 MPH  before innitiating a traffic stop

  10. For getting a ticket, I think it's usually about 10%. (i.e 60kmph would be 66kmph) But saying that, it also depends on how bored the traffic police are. If they've had an uneventful day, they may pull you over for doing 1kmph over the limit, or they may arrest you! The trick to not getting pulled over, or arrested is not to speed I'm afraid. Hope this helps.

  11. you cant.thats why its called a speed limit.

  12. Skrew that! I drive 5-10 over in AVERAGE communities.  Use common sense. .You got to be careful since it depends on where you do this... If its a small community at night drive the speed limit, in the day you can get away with at least 5. Some states and towns are more prone to ticketing you especially if you're from another state. If its a freeway or highway step it up to more, for instance in California you can drive like 15-20 over (I drive more than that even) or just follow the flow of traffic.

  13. my son in law is a state trooper in pa. and he said it is up to the officer, in most cases they give you up to 10 mph over but they don't have to give you anything over if they choose not to.

  14. Its 20km/h over the limit. but if you don't speed you wont get arrested at all!
